Old-school arcade shooter written in C++ with SFML. Custom graphics, custom sound, and a mechanic that nobody asked for: shoot enough asteroids and the game window literally expands.
Wrote this the year I discovered C++ graphics could be fun. SFML handles the window, input, and sprite rendering; I wrote the physics, the collision, the sound cues, the asteroid spawner and the UI.
The expanding-window thing was a whim that became the best part of the game. Hit enough asteroids and the playable area literally grows — which means new asteroids spawn in new places, which means the game gets harder in a way you can see.
